Terms and Conditions for the GEC Mentorship Program:

 

Program Overview: The GEC Mentorship Program is designed for engineering students who are passionate about contributing to society and seek guidance from global mentors to support their career journey. By submitting a mentee application, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

 

Program Administration: This program is administered and managed by the Global Engineers Connect (GEC) team, which comprises working professionals from various industries.

 

Participation Requirements: Details of the mentee's profile will be made available to the GEC team for the sole purpose of mentor matching, career guidance, identity verification, providing certification and recognition, facilitating connections on social media platforms, sharing program updates, and offering necessary support, including financial assistance if required. Limited information will be shared with mentors.

 

Accuracy of Information: By applying to the program, you confirm that all information provided in your application is true, accurate, and complete. GEC reserves the right to verify the information submitted in your application.

 

Participant Selection: GEC will exercise its absolute discretion in selecting participants for the program. If you are chosen, GEC will notify you and may request additional information as needed.

Termination of Mentorship: GEC reserves the right to terminate the mentoring relationship with a participant at any time. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, the participant's absence during pre-set mentoring sessions and a lack of engagement.

Mentor Matching Process: Mentees acknowledge that they do not have the authority to select their mentors. The GEC team will make the best match between mentors and mentees based on their respective profiles and needs, with the aim of ensuring a productive and effective mentoring relationship.

Confidentiality Agreement: Mentees agree to maintain strict confidentiality regarding any personal information of their mentors, including contact details, and any real-life experiences shared during the course of their mentorship. This commitment to confidentiality is essential to uphold the trust and privacy of both mentors and mentees participating in the program

Environmental Responsibility: Mentees accept full responsibility for their engagement in social services and commit to not causing any harm to surrounding ecosystems, including infrastructure and organisms. They further pledge to act responsibly and ensure their actions do not contribute to the degradation of the ecosystem. This includes taking care of their well-being and refraining from any activities that may lead to environmental damage.

Personal Responsibility: Mentees acknowledge and accept personal responsibility for their engagement in the GEC Mentorship Program, including participation in social services. Mentees must act responsibly and ensure that their actions do not cause harm to themselves, fellow participants, or any third parties.

Respect and Consent: Mentees are expected to treat everyone with respect at all times, including fellow participants, mentors, and the general public. Mentees must obtain consent before taking any photographs or videographs in public settings to uphold the principles of privacy and respect for individuals' rights and preferences.

Data Collection: In the context of your application for the GEC Mentorship Program, we will collect, store, and utilize personal data as provided on the digital application form. This includes but is not limited to: name, email address, college name, college ID number, department, semester, phone number, and additional details required for payment processing if applicable.

Statement on Photographs and Videos: We will only collect and process photographs and videos of you for the specific needs of the GEC Mentorship Program. These photographs and videos may be used for both internal and external purposes related to the program, ensuring that your consent and privacy preferences are always respected.

​

Data Retention Policy: We will retain your personal data for as long as it is deemed necessary and useful for the purposes for which it was initially collected. Once this retention period expires, we will securely and responsibly dispose of your personal data


Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, mentees are responsible for seeking appropriate medical or other assistance promptly. GEC does not provide medical or emergency services and is not liable for any delays in seeking such assistance.

Limitation of Liability: Global Engineers Connect (GEC) and its team, including mentors, shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or losses, including but not limited to physical injuries, emotional distress, or financial losses, incurred by mentees during the course of the program. Participation in the GEC Mentorship Program is voluntary, and mentees undertake activities at their own risk.


Legal Compliance: Mentees are expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations during their participation in the GEC Mentorship Program.
